A Stone's Cry:
The cry of hope, when all seems hard, a cry that refuses to let the cynicism and despair and hardness of the world and the enemy have the last word.
The cry of a heart of stone, becoming flesh (Eze. 36:25-27), more sensitive to the suffering and sorrows of the world, more enraptured with his love.
The cry of a stone from the wall, crying out for justice for the hurt and oppressed (Habakkuk 2:11).
The cry of a stone's praise when men's tongues are silent, for even the rocks cry out in a passion to see him glorified (Luke 19:40).
The cry of a living stone being built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, interceding for the world and proclaiming forth his excellencies (1 Peter 2:5, 9).
The cry of a stone, cut like the Living Stone who was rejected, participating in his sufferings in the joy of resurrection (1 Peter 2:4; Phil. 3:10).
The cry of a stone firm on our Rock, our Foundation, our Father.
The cry of a stone made to hear the thundering voice of God Most High, his cry to choose life, and listening to the hard cry of the neighborhood and world.

In the firm hope of my Risen Lord, the Rock on which I stand, I hope over a chronic illness (Phil. 1:29). Moment by moment, learning to depend on him (2 Cor. 1:9) and delight myself in him who is Life (Ps. 63:3). I groan with all of creation for his Life, his hope, his break-in redemption (Rom. 8:21-23), and for this, birthed this blog: A Stone's Cry.
