Romans 1:7
"To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints" (Romans 1:7).
Who I am depends on God's initiative. On his original creation. On his call of grace. Ths is who I am. My identity is dependent on God.
This is who Paul sees them to be, first and foremost. May I see others in the same way. May I see myself in the same way.
It is the opening of his letter, an exposition of theology and practice. May my theology spring from God's call and love and grace. May my acts flow from that.
