Impossible

"For nothing is impossible with God" (Luke 1:37).

We look, and we see the possible. We see the possible in our daily lives. Sometimes, it seems harder to see the impossible --"God, what are you doing that takes us beyond us? Where are the miracles?"

It is a scary place to be in, because God is the God of the impossible. He comes with power (Acts 10:38; Romans 1:4; Romans 15:19; 1 Cor. 2:4). Whose work am I trying to do? In whom am I trying to do it?

Yet, look. Look. Yes. This breath is impossible. I call on the name of Jesus--this is impossible except for the miracle working God who calls his own to himself. I am indwelt by the Spirit of the living God. I can boldly go to my Abba, Father. This is impossible, completely impossible.

How often we forget that the impossible is impossible--that we are reconciled to God. We look to do the impossible, we look for the "signs and wonders" of the impossible. They may be there, they may come. Yet, each moment I live in the realm of the impossible by the One who did it all on the cross, who sustains all things for himself. The impossible is that my greatest gift is Himself, not his power or not his impossible acts. He has given me Himself and has called me to Him. This is the impossible that He has made possible.
