The Public Ministry (MP) is investigating in the capital [Tegucigalpa] and San Pedro Sula 125 complaints of [human] trafficking of girls and women. In Tegucigalpa, there are some 80 complaints, in San Pedro Sula 45, said the coordinator of the Office of Children, Marisol Rodriguez.

According to research, human trafficking has displaced the arms trade as the second most lucrative but illegal trade, after drug trafficking.

For better results in preventing and combating the scourge began yesterday a day of training for prosecutors and investigators, sponsored by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
